Our corner system Our corner system

The main problem with regard to energy efficiency, which many of our competitors face, are air leaks in the logwall system. But this is actually a design problem, which may have a number of origins, for instance: insufficient or no allowance for settling or expansion of the log. Gebhardt International Cedar Homes Inc. has solved this and other problems for you. Get in touch to learn more.

Gebhardt International Cedar Homes Inc. knows how important air tightness is for you and your home's energy efficiency. Therefore, we have put special emphasis on this part of our design ... and for your peace in mind, we offer a 20 year limited warranty. Laminated Logs incl. Drip Edge and space for Sealing Tape

Laminated Log & Unique Drip Edge

The Laminated Log developed by us, is the aristocrat of log construction. It is even better than the regular solid log, because thanks to its unique construction it will remain unchanged and keep its appearance over decades.

Laminated Log incl. Drip Edge Our Laminated Logs have the same external appearance as our traditional logs. The only difference is the construction of the log: Laminated Logs are built up from three kiln-dried layers, so that the forces tending to twist the log cancel out. Which is why Laminated Logs do not twist or crack like ordinary logs but keep on looking good for generations to come.

The triple tongued and grooved joints, combined with the compression rods developed by us, ensure that the logs remain securely in place in the wall. The tongues and grooves fit tightly together to seal the house against air and water infiltration.

The Exclusive Unique Drip Edge, extra long on each row of logs, allows rain to flow freely down the outside of the wall, stopping the water from becoming trapped between the logs.

Structural Finger Joint Structural Finger Joint

The Structural Finger Joint has removed the problems of butt-jointing in log construction. Its unique design has now turned the weakest part of the Log Wall into one of the strongest parts, therefore, we can offer the customer virtually any length of log. All Finger Joints are glued except where glueing is not practical for easier transport. This Finger-Joint does not twist or warp and eliminates the use of caulking, which allows us to give a limited twenty year warranty against air and water infiltration. We are proud to say we are the only Log Home Company presently using this innovative feature in North America.

Vertical thru-bolt rods with 1000 lbs. compression springs Thru-bolt rods with compression springs

To improve our system we use Vertical thru-bolt rods with 1000 lbs. compression springs to stabilize the positioning of the log walls. The rods and springs are tough enough to supress movements within the walls. They don't have to be maintained on a weekly basis like normal versions because they keep their position from the beginning.

We are proud to be able to say, that we offer one of the most advanced loghome systems in North America.
